What Genuine Alternatives Are There Today to Traditional Masculinity?
What are the Forms of Masculinity to Come?
Join A Two Day Festival Reimagining Masculinity In Our Time
21-22 November 2026 | Rushcutters Bay, Sydney
Is it inevitable that the old patriarchal structures will break down?
What genuine alternatives are there today to traditional masculinity, both for those who have been socialised as men and for those who have not?
In the context of the contemporary rise of the far right and surging rates of violence towards women, it seems urgent today to reimagine what has been passed down to us by our culture.
Reimagining Masculinity is two days of workshops, performances and play spaces, exploring psychological, embodied and erotic facets of these questions. In addition to talks and discussions, you will have experiences, which do justice to the full spectrum of what is at stake today in reimagining what is called masculinity.
We welcome all genders and orientations to our playground!
We’ll explore
➤ How to be vulnerable and at the same time be strong.
➤ How to partner with your body and your nervous system
➤How to grow your capacities to trust and manage conflict with others
➤ How to attracting others and expressing yourself beyond traditional masculine role models
➤How to be together in a space of permission but with a reimagined idea of what masculinity is?
“How can we not ask masculinity to change when, within it, we have become so wounded?”
Who is this festival for?
➤ For those curious about how to think and feel beyond traditional masculine role models.
➤For those who are bringing up young men (cis, trans or non-binary).
➤For those who play with masculinity and perform with it.
➤For those seeking more expansive relationships with women and with other men.
Is this festival only for those who were assigned male at birth?
No, it for anyone who has a stake in reimagining who or what masculinity can be today beyond hegemonic stereotypes. All genders and orientations are welcome, especially LGBTQIA+ people and women.
